Just a few days ago, Trump – or his lawyer if you can believe that – tweeted that he had to fire Flynn because he had lied to the FBI, not only to Pence as Trump had previously said. This is the first time Trump has admitted that the FBI was used as one of his reasons for firing Flynn as National Security Advisor. Lying to the FBI is a crime. Does that mean Trump knew of Flynn’s crime before dismissing him? That sounds like obstruction, but his legal team is saying he didn’t even write the tweet thereby making him innocent of obstruction. Believe what you will, but I have a very hard time believing what his legal team is saying!

It gets even messier. Dowd – part of Trump’s legal team – said, “that he drafted the tweet and then sent it to White House Social Media Director Dan Scavino to publish,” according to NBC only to subsequently say it was dictated. Right! It’s only the beginning. It just keeps getting messier. Where is it going to end up? Are the Russians involved? A lot of things are pointing in that direction, but there is still denial. There’s an expression: “If it looks like a duck, quacks and walks like a duck, it probably is a duck!” What will be the White House’s next move? It’ll be interesting, to say the least!
