Does global warming mean the world is melting?

Trump would have you think so. The frigid temperatures of last week and this week because of an arctic blast prompted him to quip that the northeast and other places in the U.S. "could use a little bit of that good old global warming." Climate scientists were outraged. I’m outraged. Trump’s tweet suggested that the nation’s cold snap disproves global warming, but it is happening. It’s true it has been cold, but that is why the name was long ago changed from global warming to climate change. For a man with a reportedly high IQ, his statements are so naïve. They are either extremely naïve or calculated. Neither case is at all good!!! The denial of overall atmospheric temperature rises and the resultant increases in sea levels is certainly consistent with what has generally been a business person’s point of view. I wonder why?
Why does Trump think green houses were invented so that growing seasons could be lengthened because they don’t work, or because the temperature inside is increased? Climate change or global warming has been rightfully blamed on the emission of green house gases. The major contributor to those emissions is fossil fuels. Why else would we have carbon taxes and other schemes to reduce man’s contribution to green house gas emissions? Either Trump is right or a lot of other smart people are wrong!
Sea level increases and global temperature increases have been measured. We can all play number games and apply all kinds of analyzes to make data fit our desired results, but that’s not new. It is never the less outdated! It is time to take your head out of the sand President Trump and rejoin the global efforts before it is too late. A good start would be to rejoin the Paris climate accord.
Come on Trump! The evidence is clear!
