Times are a changing

Unfortunately, things do not change overnight. It can take decades. Smoking cigarettes is one example, climate change another. Respect for women’s role in society, in the house, in general is another. Of course, we have the #me-too movement so it has accelerated recently. It will still take some time or is now a monumental moment for it. I don’t know. We can only hope so. Recent events have certainly put it at the forefront and its acceleration has been enhanced. Unfortunately, the events have been horrible!

They have involved sexual abuse and harassment. Often, an inadequate man’s reaction to an uncomfortable situation has resulted in the events that this blog was inspired by. When your only defense is to react in a way where the odds of victory are heavily in your favor is cowardly. Only a coward would physically abuse an opponent when victory is almost assured. Only a coward would use their stronger voice to outshout somebody to win an argument. It’s disgusting! It is wrong! Where has our moral compass gone! Bonkers!!!

What excuse beyond denial and the insistence on due process does the Administration of Trump’s White House have? In my mind, none!!! The White House needs to recognize that times are a changing and get with it. Not only get with it, lead it!!! There’s the #me-too movement. There’s climate change. Socially progressive issues that have come to the forefront for a reason – they are right!!!
