What Is Trump’s Strong Suit? Nothing?

These are fair questions. Spelling isn’t. There’s ample evidence of that. I use social media, so his use of Twitter can’t be used to excuse his penchant for misspelling words. It has to be something else. Is Trump’s strong suit exaggeration or to put it more crudely, outright lying? There’s also ample, or to put it more correctly, overwhelming evidence of that! It probably has something to do with “puffing”, a real estate term. Is that surprising? I don’t think so. He did make his money in real estate after all. Puffing refers to “extravagant claims made by sellers in order to attract buyers.” In Trump’s case, it is the exaggeration of just about everything to his or the GOP’s advantage. It has nothing to do with reality. Once a puffer always a puffer is a good way to describe Trump and unfortunately, his presidency. What I can’t understand is that his and the GOP supporters believe him! What is wrong with them? Trump has become notorious for his use of the term fake news when referring to news coming from the news media – a staunch believer in the U.S. constitution and responsible reporting so I am going to coin my own phrase, fake politics.

I will not elaborate on all of the discouraging things that accompany this presidency, but I will mention a few. There are so many puffing and other incidents coming from Trump, his presidency, and the White House that have happened over the last two years; I am going to use bullet points to save space. Here we go:

  • Did you know that there are MS 13 gang members and middle easterners (terrorists implied, but no proof) in the 7000 or so refugees fleeing from Honduras? Sarah Huckabee and Trump say so.

  • Everything points to Khashogi being killed by the Saudi Kingdom yet Trump and his spokespeople are still waiting for I don’t know what, but they say evidence. The fact that it occurred at the Saudi Consulate, Saudi hit men carried it out, the obviously fake body double, the lack of a body, the audio and video tapes or lack of them does not suffice? Wait, I just heard that Trump and his administration now agree that Khashoggi was murdered and “it was the worst cover-up ever”, but the U.S. hasn’t announced any punishment against the Kingdom itself so not too much has changed. It’s really tough to keep up. Things change so quickly. They wouldn’t if the truth was being used. It makes me laugh!

  • Trump has said that the U.S. will create 450,000 jobs related to the Saudi arms sale that was negotiated last year. He has escalated that to about half a million and then to 600,000. The truth is the arms deal could potentially support “tens of thousands” of jobs in the U.S. as estimated by the State Department, not 600,000

  • Trump has now promised a tax cut for the middle class after giving a tax break to corporations and hence, the wealthy (look at the graph above) have benefited the most. However, the new tax break can’t be done before the mid-term elections. If I were you, I wouldn’t hold my breath!

  • At a Make America Great Again rally in Montana last Thursday night, Trump joked about Rep. Greg Gianforte, R-Mont., who body slammed Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs in 2017 because Jacobs asked the candidate a question about health care. Trump added, "Any guy who can do a body slam, he's my guy." to applause!

  • Do you remember the television footage of children in internment camps because of illegal immigration? I do!

  • Very recently, Chief of Staff, John Kelly, and National Security Advisor, John Bolton had a raucous argument in the White House after Kelly and Lewandoski (a Trump advisor) had a physical disagreement (fight) in February outside of the Oval Office on the day the children from Marjory Stoneham high school visited.

I could go on particularly after yesterday as Trump dug his heels in even more at the expense of truth, but I won’t. I have made my point. I haven’t mentioned the Transgender issue. I haven’t mentioned a lot of things. Unfortunately, “it’s working” is what I heard on CNN. I also heard, “People hear what they want to hear.” Senator Flake, a republican, asked, “Who believes this?” He went on and said, “Trump lies because it works.”

It all makes me wonder. What are GOP supporters thinking? I’ve come to the conclusion they aren’t. Today, Trump called himself a nationalist which can have bad connotations. So are or were Kim Jong Un, Putin, and Hitler. If you look it up, Trump didn't say anything wrong, BUT... !
